Gordon Tweedie
A native of Presque Isle, Maine, Gordon Tweedie attended the Oberlin College Conservatory of Music and Die Sängerakademie (Hamburg, Germany). He also studied privately at The Juilliard School and New England Conservatory. He has performed in plays, recitals, oratorios, operas and ensembles in Germany, Italy, Canada and the United States, including at Carnegie Hall and The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. He is the creator of the educational and comedic performance piece "Music Salon Singer." He also founded the wildly successful "Wicked Walking Tours: Legends and History of Haunted Portland."
In the past two years, his junior high and high school students have not only dominated their schools' music programs, but have also earned multiple leading roles in community theater at Portland Lyric Theatre, Portland Players, The Maine State Theater Project at Bowdoin College, and Portland Stage Company. They have gone up against 25 area singers to win the solo at the All District chorus. They have been one of 40 singers selected to work with the Broadway Actors Alliance in New York. They have won the best actor award at the Maine State Drama Festival One Act Competition. His older students are selling out rock/pop venues in New England and selling very well on iTunes. You could very well do the same!
