Jill Starbird Clarke - Owner

Jill's passion for the music industry began as early as 12 years old when she began working in her father's music store. After gaining the knowledge and experience from those early years, Jill and her mother opened their own store in 1976. Their original small print music shop has grown to be today's Starbird Music Mall, containing the largest piano showroom and largest selection of music in the state of Maine. Jill has dedicated her life to fulfilling the musical needs of the community and prides herself in giving the best service to all her customers. She truly believes that music is the best gift you can give your family.

Chris has been with Starbird Music since 2002. He is knowledgeable in guitars and guitar music, piano methods, and popular artists. A guitarist and audio engineer himself, Chris can answer questions about music and recording technology; such as software, microphones, and performance equipment.

You can see Chris perform with local rock group the Frotus Caper, with whom he has shared stages with Atlantic Chamber Orchestra, Peter Tork of the Monkees, plus national acts Owsley, Rubyhorse, Digable Planets, and Sam Roberts.

Petra Kirchmaier

Petra is the main "behind-the scenes" person at Starbird. She handles everything from billing, accounting, payroll, etc. If it has to do with finances, it has to do with Petra.

Petra has worked at Starbird for 16 years.

Robert D. Miller

Bob runs the Lowrey Organ Music Program at Starbird Music. He not only can help you find the right Lowrey organ to take home with you but he also conducts the lessons each week here in the Lowrey Lounge. He currently has about 40 students altogether. Whether you are a novice or an expert Bob has an organ and a class for you!

Bob began piano lessons at age 8. At age 12 he became interested in organ and at age 13 he began playing the organ in his Church. Fifty-five years later he is still playing the church organ, well, by now it is a different one ;-) currently at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Gorham, ME.

While stationed in Okinawa with the U.S. Air Force Bob was an organist at the main chapel on Kadena Air Force Base. In 1971 he began playing for a Welsh singing service called Gymanfu Ganu in PA and he has played there every year since.

Bob retired in 2001 from a career in accounting and started working part-time for Starbird Music Mall.
