Delivery Services
Here at Starbird Music piano moving is one of our
specialties!
Whether it is a new instrument you recently purchased from
our showroom, one of our pre-loved models, or your own family heirloom, don't
trust the move to just anyone. Leave it to the experts.
Maybe you are moving into a new home, new condo, or just need
it moved from one floor to another! Whatever the reason for your piano move
trust Starbird and our years of experience to handle the move for you.
Moving pianos and organs requires careful handling by
experienced professionals using the proper equipment. That includes a specially designed soft ride suspension truck that will
deliver your piano to its destination safe and sound.
This is where experience and expertise is crucial. Often a
piano is a valuable investment and damages can cost up to hundreds, if not
thousands, of dollars to repair. If you have any doubts whether your piano will
fit, call us and our moving specialists will come in for an assessment. When you move, schedule our professionals to safely transport your instrument.
A typical move consists of three parts; disassembly, the
actual move, and re-assembly.
- First, the keyboard action is secured and padded.
- The lyre (the pedals of the piano) is removed (we do not lower the
piano onto the lyre as some movers will as this can put unnecessary stress on the
lyre).
- The left front leg is removed and the piano is lowered onto a
padded skid-board.
- Next, the piano is raised, the remaining legs are removed and the piano is
padded with blankets and strapped down.
- Then, the piano is loaded onto our truck, secured for transport and moved
to its new home.
- The difficult part comes next when we arrive at your home.
For some, it is a simple move. For others, it can mean staircases, angles,
doorways, etc. This is where having skilled movers pays off in protecting your
instrument and your home.
- Finally, comes re-assembly and you are ready to play!
We can also help you avoid the inherent dangers involved in
doing the move yourselves; such as costly visits to the Doctor and physical
therapist after straining those un-used muscles or damaging your vehicle from the
stress and strain of a heavy piano. Not to mention the possibility of someone
who is helping you getting hurt.
So protect yourself, your health, your instrument, your
investment, your vehicle, and your home and have Starbird deliver that piano for you!
Some of our happy clients with their new pianos include Bob Marley and
his family.
Not only do we offer local and statewide transportation, but we can also
arrange for nationwide shipping.
